HealthWare, iDental(TM) Link With HealthWare Systems Canada, Inc.
HealthWare Corporation, the developer of iDental(TM) and iMedical® for Macintosh OS X, has announced it has signed a definitive Letter of Intent with Troy Spracklin, President of HealthWare Systems Canada, Inc. This agreement provides for exclusive distribution of iDental and iMedical in Canada.
Michael Edwards, President of HealthWare Corporation, was the founder and CEO of HealthCare Communications, the original developer of DentalMac, MediMac and ChiroMac for Apple operating systems. Over 7,000 practices around the world were automated with applications from HealthCare Communications from 1984-2000. Edwards noted that, "This is the most concentrated effort yet to provide state-of-the-art Macintosh OS X healthcare software for the country of Canada."
A Canadian version of iDental was released in May of 2006. iMedical will be released in mid-summer of 2006. Both are localized for Canada and will adhere to Canadian standards for electronic submission of insurance claims, and other standards imposed by Canada or its provinces. All HealthWare products are Universal Binaries, meaning they are natively compatible with Apple's new Intel-based Macs, which run 2-5 times faster than existing Macintosh computers. In addition, Intel-based Macs also have the ability to run Windows natively.
Spracklin, who has ten years of experience working with high-end Apple Macintosh products and advanced networking systems, indicated that 100% of his efforts, and that of his staff, will be devoted to selling and installing iDental and iMedical in Canada. Spracklin stated that, "With the advantages of Mac OS X and the Mac, the quality of HealthWare software, and the expertise and experience of HealthWare Systems Canada, there is no reason why iDental and iMedical cannot assume a dominant position with Canadian healthcare providers in short order."
